Typical Duties:
Report for live newscasts
Be able to shoot, write and edit your own stories and feed them back to the station by laptop or microwave truck
Enterprise and report news as assigned and generate story ideas for newscasts
Make contacts and gather information about news issues and events in Arizona and California from which reports are written and edited
Write interesting news stories from wire copy, field reports and telephone interviews
Assist in production (copy and video) for newscasts
Write and edit packages, voiceovers, and sound-on-tapes
Establish a good working relationship with the newscast producer to ensure a well-paced clean newscast
Produce newscasts when needed
Represent station at community events
Perform other tasks related to the position as assigned
Requirements:
Previous experience desired, but not required, as a television news reporter and photographer
Strong, creative writing skills and familiarity with ENG
Ability to meet daily deadlines
Must be a team player who knows how to show and tell interesting stories on the air and in the field
Ability to shoot, edit news copy and videotape and newsroom computer experience preferred
Must possess a valid driver's license with no DUI convictions
Typing skills and good phone etiquette
Bilingual in Spanish helpful

Position: Master Control Operator (Part Time)

Typical Duties:
Perform on-air switching of local, network, and syndicated programming
Dub in commercials from tape to servers for playback
Responsible for checking in shows and commercials
Monitor audio and video levels of all shows, commercials, satellite feeds and live programming
Review and complete daily broadcast and transmitter logs
Notify Chief Engineer of any transmitter variances or outages
Responsible for utilizing the Emergency Alert System
Perform other tasks related to the position as assigned
Requirements:
Live news experience recommended
Hands-on experience in the operation of television station equipment, including video and audio control boards, VTR machines (Beta, DVCPro, and DVCAM), character generators, etc.
Good oral and written communication skills
Ability to make quick and accurate decisions under pressure
Basic computer knowledge and skills
Familiar with television terminology
