Michael Colaianni joined the KYMA team in December of 2012.
Michael spent his childhood growing up all over the world. He was born in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and went to American International schools in Germany, Austria, and Japan. While living overseas he was lucky enough to travel to countries such as China, Vietnam, Egypt, and the Maldives. Michael loved having the opportunity to meet and make friends with people from around the globe.
Michael attended the Russell J. Jandoli School of Journalism at St. Bonaventure University and was mentored by Pulitzer prize winning journalist John Hanchette, as well as several other distinguished reporters and producers. While reporting for the university's television station, W-SBU TV, Michael interviewed numerous community members and athletes, including 2012 first round NBA draft pick Andrew Nicholson.
In his free time, Michael enjoys spending time outdoors hiking and exploring, as well as playing baseball, basketball, and golf with friends. As a diehard New York Yankees and Buffalo Bills fan, you will always find him cheering on his teams!
Michael loves living in Arizona, especially enjoying the warm weather and fantastic food in the Southwest. He is thankful for all the support from his family, friends, the KYMA team, and the Yuma community.
Michael loves a good story, so if you have one to tell make sure to let him know! You can e-mail him at mcolaianni@kyma.com
