Multiple Sclerosis Resource Fair and Town Hall Meeting

The National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Arizona Chapter and the local Group Empowerment for Multiple Sclerosis (GEMS) and the Foundation of Yuma Regional Medical Center are collaboratively hosting an informative session and resource fair focusing on MS. People living with or those affected by MS will learn more about resources, programs and services available inYumaCounty. Participants are encouraged to explore local vendors, listen to guest physician speakers, and build a network of support.

Multiple sclerosis is a chronic disease affecting over 400,000 individuals nationally. No cure has been identified, though great advances have been made in slowing the disease progression and treating symptoms. The nature of MS is often complex, affecting many aspects of patients’ and family members’ lives with a wide variety of symptoms that are unpredictable. It can leave individuals feeling isolated and lacking in self-efficacy. The resource fair and town hall meeting will provide participates with information and encourage movement toward better health and wellness.
