Yuma, Ariz. – The deadline to enroll for 2015 healthcare coverage, to be in compliance with the affordable care act, is this Sunday, February 15th. According to the Regional Center for Border Health there are benefits for being enrolled such as tax credits and cost sharing reductions. Several people we spoke to said that they simply can’t afford it and feel the government is trying to control them. If you do not enroll by the deadline there are penalties and you will not receive coverage. According to healthcare.gov the fines this year are greater than last year, costing you 2% of your income or $325 per adult and $162 per child which ever costs more. If you can not make the time to sign up in person, you are able to enroll online at sites such as www.healthcare.gov.
