Lisa Sturgis considers herself a semi-Yuma native.
Although she was born and raised in suburban Chicago,
her grandparents were long-time winter visitors, and she
vacationed here often growing up.

She relocated to the area permanently after graduating from high school, and has considered Yuma home ever since.

Lisa is thrilled to be back home in the Desert Southwest
in the same newsroom where she started in the business more than 20-years ago.

Lisa first came to KYMA in 1987 after attending both Arizona Western College and Arizona State University. From Yuma she went on to Reno, then to Dayton and Cleveland, Ohio, before getting her first network job at CNN World Headquarters in Atlanta. Lisa worked on several newscasts before joining Greta Van Susteren's team. She eventually followed Greta to Fox News Channel's Washington, D.C. bureau. Her career includes multiple Emmy nominations and several Associated Press awards for her work behind the cameras.

Lisa is particularly excited about re-joining the News 11 team, because it's allowed her the opportunity to step in front of the camera. You can watch her Saving You Money reports every Friday on the Early Edition, as well as on Nightside.
