Caitlin Slater joined KYMA News in August 2017.

Caitlin was born and raised in Tempe, Arizona. She says she fell in love with television news at a young age. In 8th grade, she anchored her middle school student news station, KMSTV.

The spunky red head moved to Los Angeles to attend Azusa Pacific University (APU) to pursue her broadcasting dreams and further her faith. She served as an anchor, reporter, and producer for the school news station, APU Capture. Caitlin was also on the cheerleading team at APU. After three years, she was able to graduate in May 2017 with a bachelor’s degree in journalism.

Prior to joining the KYMA family, she worked as the multimedia reporter for The CW6 in Phoenix. In 2016, Caitlin interned as the multimedia journalist writing sports stories for Brad Cesmat and The Brad Cesmat Show on Arizona Fox Sports 1 and She also worked as a board operator for Major League Baseball games with Skyview Satellite Networks. Her favorite app is Sworkit! In 2016 she served as the only West Coast Ambassador for the workout app featured on Shark Tank.

In her free time, you can find Caitlin tracking down the latest fashion and blogging about many topics like fashion, fitness, DIY crafts and treats on her personal blog. She enjoys exercising and is an advocate for a healthy lifestyle. A devoted Christian, she thanks God for the many blessings in her life.
