Hit and run suspect wanted by police

The Yuma Police Department is looking for a driver who took off after hitting a pedestrian Friday evening.

 

YPD said at 6:11 p.m. officers were dispatched to a hit and run vehicle collision that occurred in the 1800 blk. of W. 6th Pl. Enrique Carval, 81, was crossing 6th Place and was struck by a vehicle traveling west bound.  Carval suffered serious head injuries and was transported to Yuma Regional Medical Center.

 

The driver fled the scene and the vehicle was located unoccupied a short distance from the scene.  During the course of the investigation, officers discovered another vehicle that had been struck by the same vehicle in the 400 Block of S. Magnolia Ave., prior to the collision involving the pedestrian.  The investigation is continuing to determine who was driving the vehicle at the time of the collisions.
