Hope to Dream hopes to bring more beds to kids in need this holiday

Hope to Dream

YUMA, Ariz. - Ashley Furniture in Yuma is bringing their "Hope to Dream" event back for the second year.

This is an effort to bring beds to kids in our community who go to sleep every night without one.

"All of the customers that purchase mattresses with Ashley Furniture in Yuma, a proceeds of those purchases go towards our event called Hope to Dream," manager of Yuma Furniture, Tiffany Houston said.

Children will receive a twin size box spring bed and comforter from Ashley Furniture, and also a pillow donated by Crossroads Mission.

Ashley Furniture uses a referral process to identify kids in the community who are in need.

By visiting the Ashley Furniture Home Store website or by clicking here, you can apply or nominate a child to receive a free bed this holiday.

On Sunday, December 17, Ashley Furniture hosts a drive-in movie event, or bed-in as they call it where they invite all of the selected children to watch a movie on their new bed in the parking lot.

Several volunteers come together to provide blankets, toys, food and other goodies for the kids on this night.

"They just think they are coming for an event and then we surprise them with the bed that they get to take home that night," Houston said.

Right now, there are 20 spots available for kids in need to receive this special gift.

If you would like to donate to this cause, they also have a Go-Fund Me account on the Ashley Home Furniture Facebook page or click here
