YUMA, Ariz. - After three days of jury selection, the full panel of 12 jurors and four alternates will be seated Friday morning to hear the case against Modesto Cortes-Serrillo.
More than a dozen of potential jurors were called in for final questions Thursday morning.
Some of those questions included feelings on the charges Cortes-Serrillo faces, which are premeditated first-degree murder in the fatal shooting of 43-year-old Santiago Olivio-Diaz back in 2014, and the knowledge about the crime.
Jurors will decide if the murder was pre-meditated or not.
Cortés-Serrillo's trial is scheduled to begin Friday with opening statements from state and defense attorneys. The state has also scheduled to call on their first witness which is the detective handling this case.
