BRAWLEY, Calif. - An unidentified man threatened to hurt himself and other people at his residence at Cattle Call Drive and De Anza Street on Wednesday afternoon, according to Brawley Police Department.
Law enforcement units from several agencies surrounded the residence and blocked off the streets.
Officials said they negotiated with the man to give himself up. The man allowed the people in the house to leave and then gave himself up.
Police were able to recover the weapon and say the man was taken into custody and will receive a mental evaluation to determine what charges will be brought against him.
