TRINITY COUNTY, Calif. - Keith Olsen, the 74-year-old man from Yuma who went missing while traveling to Washington has been found dead over the weekend.
According to Kris Olsen, Keith's daughter, she posted an update on Facebook:
"It's with utter heartbreak that I must let you know Dad's body was found the afternoon of Saturday, Nov. 25 about 400 feet from his car," Olsen wrote in her Facebook post.
The Yuma County Sheriff's Office also confirmed in a press release sent Monday that Olsen's body was found. They received information on November 25th that the body of Keith Olsen was found in a remote area of Trinity County in Northern California.
On November 18th, Keith's vehicle was found abandoned near Zenia Road. An extensive search of the area was conducted to find Olsen. A team of trackers found his body a few days later. There is no evidence of foul play.
According to the Yuma County Sheriff's Office, Olsen went missing on November 15th, 2017. Olsen was traveling to Washington State for his granddaughter's wedding and was last heard from in the Sacramento area.
According to Kris Olsen's post, Keith left his car to seek help, before becoming hypothermic.
"At some point, he found a flat grassy area that the tracker described as quite beautiful," Kris wrote on her Facebook post.
