MS-13 gang member arrested in Yuma identified

YUMA, Ariz. - Yuma Sector Border Patrol agents arrested an MS-13 gang member back on November 7th, just north of the Andrade Port of Entry in California.

We've learned that he is a 47-year-old Honduran citizen, Luis Romero-Alfredo.

Romero-Alfredo entered the United States illegally and was transported to the Yuma Station for processing.

Agents learned that Romero was a member of the MS-13 gang and in the past has been removed from the U.S. twice: through Los Angeles in 1997 and in 1998 out of Laredo, Texas.

Romero's past crimes included multiple convictions of assault, theft, and making a false claim to U.S. citizenship.

Romero remained in federal custody pending further disposition per Yuma Sector guidelines.
