The new online feature 'Permit at Home' allows Arizona teens to take the written portion of their driver's permit without having to make the trip.
The test requires parents to create a free account for their teen driver with either their driver license or ID card but the rules are still the same, with the driver having three chances to pass within a 12-month timespan.
Even though the written portion of the test is offered online, the driving portion to receive your license still requires being in person with a member of the Arizona Department of Transportation Motor Vehicle Division.
Although the option is convenient and faster to go behind the wheel, we asked Yuma drivers on their thoughts on the permit at home and whether they think it's a good idea for the future of driving.
