SOMERTON, Ariz. - Fire officials responded to the scene of a single rollover accident on Avenue B and County 20 1/2 on Saturday morning.
Authorities said at 5:21 a.m., the Somerton Cocopah Fire Department responded to the crash.
Fire authorities found a sedan on its top with severe damages as well as down power lines and a broken power pole.
There was a single occupant of the vehicle, according to SCFD. The 18-year-old male driving the vehicle exited the flipped vehicle by himself, walking on the scene.
The driver said he was traveling north on Avenue B and fell asleep at the wheel. He was awoken at the impact of the crash.
The sedan impacted an electrical pole and rolled, according to Somerton Cocopah Fire Department.
The driver was checked on scene and refused a transport to the hospital. Thanks to the use of a seat-belt, the driver did not suffer any life-threatening injuries.
APS was also called to the scene due to a damaged power pole and down wire lines.
Yuma County Sheriff's Office is investigating the accident.
