BRAZIL - Local Ultimate Fighting Champion Kelvin Gastelum has been pulled from UFC 212 against Anderson Silva after he tested positive for marijuana and/or hashish, according to a FoxSports.com article.
Gastelum provided a sample on March 11 in Brazil after his fight with Vitor Belfort which tested positive for Carboxy-Tetrahydrocannabinol (Carboxy-THC). Gastelum's test results were above the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) allowance for athletes competing in the UFC, which is 180 ng/mL.
Gastelum has been placed on a provisional suspension after testing positive.
UFC is now looking for a fighter to replace Gastelum's slot against Silva at UFC 212 in Brazil on June 3.
