Kofa volleyball still rollin'!

Lady Kings keep unbeaten streak against Cibola

YUMA, Ariz. - Through 14 matches, the Kofa volleyball team has proven themselves dominate; as they've won every match they've played so far and have only lost 3 sets in the entire process! It's no accident they're sitting at 7th overall in the AIA amongst all 6A programs in Arizona.

With only 4 matches remaining in the regular season, the Lady Kings could have easily looked ahead of crosstown foe Cibola on Tuesday night; with the big match against 9th ranked Sandra Day O'Connor looming later this week.

But, they didn't.

From start to finish, Kofa played with urgency in their home rematch against the Lady Raiders. In the first 2 sets, the Lady Kings built sizeable leads over Cibola that they never relinquished.

Even though the Lady Raiders gave the Lady Kings all they could handle in the 3rd, Kofa still held them off to come thru with their 12 straight 3-set sweep of the season.

Kofa's three captains came on strong in this contest; as Laura Sanderson put down 9 aces and 7 kills, while Keiley Sharp had 9 kills of her own, and Isabel Ponce came away with 26 assists.

Kofa's 25-14, 25-13 and 25-22 win sets up a huge showdown against Sandra Day O'Connor this Thursday night at Rios Gym.

Meanwhile, Cibola will play their season home finale against San Luis this Thursday night.
