AWC football to play in another bowl

YUMA, Ariz. - Since the El Toro Bowl was resurrected in 2011, the AWC Matadors football program has played in this game every year; until now.

Because the unbeaten 2nd ranked Matadors accepted the invitation to play in the national championship game (also known as the "Mississippi Bowl) against top ranked East Mississippi; the Caballeros de Yuma and Matador Athletic Association El Toro Bowl selection committee had to go in a new direction.

They selected two programs from other parts of the country and both 6th ranked Snow College out of Ephraim, Utah and 10th ranked Blinn College, out of Texas accepted their invitations to play in this year's El Toro Bowl game on December 2nd.

Snow College is no stranger to Veteran's Memorial Stadium, as the Badgers are one of AWC's main competitors for the WSFL title every season. They bring in the nation's best scoring offense, generated by a rushing attack that generates more than 280 yards a game on average!

Meanwhile, the Blinn Buccaneers can also light up the scoreboard, as they're 11th in the country in overall offense with a ground attack that also is potent; as they average more than 230 rushing yards per game.

With two potent offenses, we may see one of the higher scoring El Toro Bowl games in it's history.
