JOB OPPORTUNITIES  

Assignment Editor

Shift: 9:30am-6:30pm

Typical Duties:  Gather news stories; Conduct news and production meetings; Coordinate live shots; Perform beat checks by phone, online or in person; Coordinate photographers and reporters for shoots; Write news stories and edit videos as necessary; Establish and maintain relationships with P.I.O.’s; Monitor scanners for breaking news; Prepare planner for upcoming community events; Prepare quarterly station reports for the FCC; Attend station-sponsored events as representative of the station; Coordinate satellite microwave feeds; Assist reporters in setting up interviews; And perform other tasks related to the position as assigned.

 

Requirements:  Prior experience in TV and a college degree preferred; Bi-lingual in Spanish a Plus; Must deal with pressure situations, demonstrate good news judgment and be capable of directing others while maintaining a good attitude; Ability to edit videotape; Must be able to type and operate a computer;      Please submit resume.

Producer / Reporter

Shift: TBD

Typical Duties:  Generate story ideas; write scripts using iNews; conduct live and taped reports for newscasts; Conduct interviews; edit videotape as necessary; perform live shots; Operate various types of electronic equipment such as newsroom computer systems, editing machines, ENG trucks, and voice-tracking equipment; Carry equipment (tripod, camera, microphones, cable and power reels) and perform other tasks related to the position as assigned

 

Requirements:  Previous experience as a news reporter in small to medium market preferred; Weather experience preferred but not necessary; Ability to make extensive news contacts in the desert southwest; Maintain highest journalistic standards; Must deal with pressure situations, demonstrate good news judgment, and maintain a good attitude; Must edit DVC Pro; On-call when assigned; Ability to carry camera/recording gear to any and all locations; Possess basic knowledge of all live trucks to assist photographers with set-up and break-down; Possess a valid driver's license with no DUI convictions or able to obtain one within 30 days with a clean driving record; College graduate;  * Please submit a non-returnable DVD and a resume *

News Photographer (part-time)

Shift: TBD

Typical Duties:  Shoot and edit video; Operate ENG Camera equipment; Set-up and shoot live ENG remotes; Assist reporters with story editing; Cue, edit, and dub tapes; Edit voice-overs, soundbites and packages; Monitor scanner for spot news;       Perform scheduled maintenance of vehicle and camera; Perform other tasks related to the position as assigned.

 

Requirements: Experience as a news photographer (preferred); Bilingual in Spanish a plus; Knowledge of basic shots: head shots, long shots, stand ups, etc. Familiar with ENG; Skilled at operating DV Cam field gear; Ability to edit videotape on Adobe Premiere, meet daily deadlines and work cooperatively with other staff members; Experience editing news copy and videotape; Must deal with pressure situations, demonstrate good news judgment and maintain a good attitude; Valid driver's license, with a clean driving record; Ability to carry camera/recording gear to any and all locations; Good phone etiquette; Newsroom computer experience (iNews); Please submit a DVD and resume.

Account Executive

Shift: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (Monday - Friday)

Typical Duties: Generate income for station through sale of time on air
Create and maintain clients
Manage client accounts
Attend sales meetings with General Manager and other account executives
Create media and information packages for clients and prospects
Work with clients on production of commercials
Create commercials, scripts, and monitor progress in production
Work with creative service department to develop and schedule production shoots
Work with Corporate traffic department
Keep current clients updated on new programs and events
Represent station within the local community and
Perform other tasks related to the position as assigned.

Requirements: Minimum of 2 years sales/marketing experience preferred;
Media sales experience preferred;
Ability to make face to face and cold calls
Good written and oral communication skills and must be a creative thinker;
Bilingual in Spanish a Plus
Valid Driver's License with clean driving record, insurance and have a dependable vehicle;
Must pass a pre-employment drug and/or alcohol test;
Maintain a home telephone; and
If hired, must be able to provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States

Creative Services Producer

Shift: 8AM-5PM (Monday-Friday)
Additional days/hours as needed

Typical Duties: Write, produce, direct, shoot, and edit commercials and PSA’s, some in-house promotion and news promotion;
Work with clients to develop commercial ideas into reality;
Coordinate EFP and post-production and weekly schedule;
Meet and bill new clients;
Perform non-liner editing;
Shoot with a Cannon XL1; and
Perform other tasks related to the position as assigned.

Requirements: Demonstrated abilities in writing and producing commercials;
Experience shooting digital video tape editing;
Knowledge of electronic field production, lighting, and directing helpful;
Ability to work independently and as a team player;
Ability to carry up to 50 lbs. of television equipment;
Possess a valid driver’s license with a clean DMV record; and
