Yuma/El Centro, where KYMA, NBC 11 was built by Sunbelt from the ground up, has a lot more going for it than you'd expect. This hyphenated market, bordered by Mexico is home to over 350,000 year around residents. Excellent weather and recreational opportunities annually attract an additional 120,000 snowbirds from September through April, bringing with them over $220,000,000 in spendable income.

Yuma is a young market, with a median age of 32 years. 63% falling between the ages of 18 and 49. This means families, growth, business, schools and a healthy economy. Military personnel also provide a large impact on the local economy, with two large bases. The Marine Corps Air Station and Yuma Proving Ground encompass over 1 million acres and the over 10,000 military and support personnel at these two bases spend in excess of $6,000,000 a year in the market.

Yuma attractions and points of interest include river tours on the Colorado, ghost towns, the Yuma Speedway and scores of gem fields. Golf courses are plentiful and RV owners are right at home with over 100 fully equipped RV parks to chose from.

Yuma is home to Arizona Western College and to the southern campus of Northern Arizona University while our sister city in California, El Centro is home to Imperial Valley College. Calexico California is home to the San Diego State University branch campus.
