A week ago today, the Desert Southwest woke up to hear the news that border patrol agent Robert Rosas, a border patrol agent from El Centro, had been gunned down and murdered.
As a police motorcade escorted Rosas' body thousands paid their respects to the deceased agent, his grieving widow, and two young children.
First was a memorial service where Rosas' step-father spoke. Then a statement read by a family member, on behalf of Rosalie Rosas, his wife.
Friends and co-workers remember rosas as committed to his loved ones. Family members, friends and border patrol agents went on to the toughest part of the day
Border patrol helicopters flew over the grieving crowd. One parting away to mourn the loss of a brother. And before rosas' body was lowered into the ground his wife, son and daughter put rose petals on the casket.
The state of Arizona filed an appeal on SB 1070 and Governor Jan Brewer vowed to battle the decision to the bitter end.
People in Mexico are reacting to U.S. District Judge Susan Bolton's decision to block parts of SB 1070 Wednesday.
