Over 33 million people have HIV worldwide. Gabriela Leon is in charge of HIV outreach with Back to the Basics Please.

Leon said these numbers are increasing in both Arizona and California. And even more people go undiagnosed. Leon says, "In the region there's about 200 undocumented cases which means two hundred people don't know they're status."

But health officials worry people are becoming complacent to HIV and AIDS disease. To honor world AIDS day, Back to the Basics Please set up booths to inform the public. After all, many say the key to prevention is through education.
