A memorial service will be held for Border Patrol Agent, John Hoag who died while on duty.
Agent Hoag collapsed while working at the checkpoint along Highway U.S. 95 early Thursday morning. Paramedics rushed him to Yuma Regional Medical Center where he died a few hours later. Hoag had been with the U.S. Border Patrol, Yuma Sector, since 2003. He was only 40 years old.
The public memorial for Agent Hoag will be held Tuesday, December 22, at 10 a.m. at Yuma Mortuary. He will be laid to rest immediately afterwards at Desert Lawn Cemetary.
The state of Arizona filed an appeal on SB 1070 and Governor Jan Brewer vowed to battle the decision to the bitter end.
