Three people are in custody in connection to a pair of haystack fires in the Imperial Valley. The Imperial County Sheriff's Office said 29-year-old Darryl Elmore Junior, 28-year-old Martin Arthur Archuleta, and 25-year-old Luis Alberto Vasquez face arson fire charges.

Authorities caught the suspects after they tried to flee one of the fires, lost control of their vehicle and crashed into a ditch. ICSO believes the men are responsible for setting two separate hay stack fires on Wednesday.

One fire was in El Centro near Austin and Aten Roads. The second blaze broke out in Seeley. The fires are still burning as of Thursday night.
