Yuma Regional Medical Center offers Silver care program aimed at getting senior citezens more active in their health.

Silver Care is a program offered through Yuma Regional Medical Center aimed at keeping seniors physically and mentally active in their health.

Most members are over the age of 55 but some are getting started earlier. If you're taking care of a parent or grandparent and need access to to information and resources, you're eligable to join at no cost.

Rebecca Larson with the program at YRMC said this gives seniors the opportunity to take a more active role in their health. "They're able to attend seminars and get discounts through the plaza laboratory and other areas of the hospital so that they're able to take a more active role in taking care of their health weather it's watchig their cholesteral level or learning about cancer prevention they're able to find out and use the tools they know to take better care of themselves," Larson said.
