The F-35 Joint Strike Fighter Jet is well on it's way to Yuma, but before it arrives, the newly completed flight simlator will be the training powerhouse for pilots at Marine Corps Air Station Yuma.
According to MCAS Yuma PAO Capt. Staci Reidinger "We have the capabilities in place as we have the aircraft arrive, but more importantly, it creates an opportunity for our pilots to be properly trained so that by the time they get into the aircraft, they've had the simulated conditions to do their job appropriately."
The completion of the F-35 flight simulator is a significant milestone for for MCAS yuma because there's not many throughout the nation. Reidinger states "This is the second Joint-Strike-Fighter simulator." She continued "This is the first one designed for operational use for the Marine Corps."
