Yuma's Newest Fighter Jet Arrives
Friday, November 16 2012 Updated: 5:37pm MST
For the first time in Yuma history, the F-35B Joint-Strike Fighter Jet has officially landed at Marine Corps Air Station Yuma.
This much anticipated jet has been on most local's radar since the early stages of development, and on Friday it was quite a sight for locals.
Although this landing was not publicly announced, locals heard about it through word of mouth and some were fortunate enough to witness it land.
Captain Staci Reidinger with MCAS Yuma talked about the jet's success. According to Reidinger "This is the first F-35 aircraft arriving into Yuma, but more importantly this F-35 arriving here today represents an event which is happening Tuesday--a redesignation ceremony."
