Superintendents for the Crane Elementary School voted in favor of a proposed charter school to open in the district.

Parents, educators, and residents met at Pueblo Elementary School in Yuma Tuesday night to discuss the proposal and voice concerns and ask questions.

Some parents were opposed to the idea wanting more focus on the schools that are currently open. Others look forward to the plans for the school.

The Crane Charter School could open by next fall and will be located at the H.L. Suverkrup Elementary School in Yuma.
