Yuma Police responded to a domestic violence call about 5:30 p.m. on the 2700 block of S. 28th Dr. The man police are searching for, Kennan Brown, 30, has had multiple run-ins with the law and has warrants out for his arrest.

Wednesday night, police blockaded several blocks to search for Brown.

"There's been a lot of incidents recently that have been happening. There's been a lot of blocked off corners, a lot of domestic violence," said Devina Renteria, who lives in the neighborhood that was blocked off. "So I don't know, I'm kind of thinking twice about the neighborhood now."

People in the neighborhood said they were surprised by the police showing up in full force.

"Then they started off in the corner house, and now they're moving section by section to look for this guy," Renteria said.

News 11 received a call from a person who lives near that neighborhood, who said these domestic violence calls at this residence have been an ongoing issue.

"It was scary at first. It was kind of a shocker because it's never been this magnitude where they're blocking off a lot of blocks," Renteria said. "It was kind of scary, but it's also reassuring in a way.

Police say Brown fled on foot. If you have any information, call the Yuma Police Department at (928) 783-4421.
