The Yuma Border Patrol Agent arrested on drug smuggling charges appeared in a Phoenix courtroom Thursday. Agent Aaron Anaya appeared in federal court for a hearing regarding changing one of his attorneys.

A judge granted the request and has postponed Anaya's preliminary hearing until next week. Anaya is accused of smuggling marijuana into the U.S while on duty Sunday night. FBI agents spotted him receiving 150 pounds of marijuana over the top of the border fence between Wellton and Yuma. Anaya has been in custody in Phoenix since Monday.
