Doctors were able to save the leg of a Tacna man who was sent to a Phoenix hospital after a pipe bomb exploded on him.

Friends of Kolbey Coulter, 30, told News 11 he went under surgery Thursday night.

Doctors were able to save one of his legs and say he will even have full functionality with that leg.

Unfortunately doctors did have to amputate his other leg.

Yuma deputies responded to Coulter's house on Tuesday and say they found items to make pipe bombs.

Authorities will review the case to determine whether any charges will be filed.
