Police in Southern California say one person is in custody after shots were fired outside an upscale mall in Newport Beach.

Police say up to 50 rounds were shot into the air by a person outside Macy's department store at the Fashion Island Mall. Officials immediately locked down the mall stores causing pandaemonium among shoppers. According to police, no one was injured, and the mall has reopened.
