On Thursday at around 10:10 am, Wells Fargo Bank, 790 W. Catalina Dr. was robbed.

According to Yuma Police officers the initial investigation revealed a male suspect entered the bank and demanded money. He was given an undisclosed amount of money and was seen leaving the bank on foot. Yuma Police officers responding to the bank saw the suspect running and after a short time he was taken into custody in the area of Kofa High School.

The suspect is Jesus Alaniz, 25. He was arrested and booked into the Yuma County Detention Center for robbery, burglary and theft. During the investigation it was discovered Jesus Alaniz was wanted for another case involving the theft of weapons and other property. He was booked for a charge of theft reference that case.

Officers tell News 11 Jesus Alaniz's brother identified as Nestor Alaniz, 21, was also involved in the robbery. He was arrested and booked into the Yuma County Detention Center for robbery, burglary and theft.

The Yuma Police Department encourages anyone with information about this case to call (928) 373-4700 or 78-crime to remain anonymous. The two men will be in court Friday. News 11 will continue bringing you the latest on this investigation.
