The Yuma County Sheriff's Office tells News 11 it is looking for a suspect who tried to kidnap a 6-year-old girl. Deputies say the attempt happened Monday evening near May Avenue and Eighth Street. They say a 17-year-old was walking her sister from the bus stop when the incident took place.

The victim reports that the suspect approached them and tried to pull the 6-year-old girl away from her. The victim hit the suspect in the face with her keys and he ran off holding his face in his hands.

The suspect is described as a white male in his mid 20’s to early 30’s with blond hair, blue eyes, between 5’10” and 6’01” weighing approximately 175 to 200 pounds. The suspect has a tattoo on his left arm just above or below the elbow on the inside of his forearm. The tattoo was possibly of a bird or a bat, the juveniles described the tattoo as something having wings.

The juveniles did not sustain any injuries in the attack. The public is urged to contact the Yuma County Sheriff’s Office with any information regarding this case.
