The Kofa Kings had a lot of momentum before their first game of the season against the San Luis Sidewinders right before the Christmas break. The team was 6-0 and unbeaten at home (in regular season play) for the past two years.
The Sidewinders were also unbeaten at the time and were able to pull out a win at Kofa; thanks in part to a controversial hand ball call against the Kings. This allowed the Sidewinders to score the game winning goal on a penalty kick.
With these memories fresh in their minds, the Kings went to San Luis with a full head of steam that didn't let up much. Kofa's Danny Urias scored one of the team's first half goals off a rebound. His teammate Jesus Felix also came up big for the Kings with three goals. All of them in the second half.
Kofa wound up winning by the score of 5 to 1. The big road win gives Kofa an impressive 8-1 record, while the Sidewinders fall to 6-2 on the season.
