Yuma County Sheriff deputies are on the search for a man they say is armed and dangerous.

The suspect, Jose Jimenez, 30, is wanted for fleeing from deputies after they received a call of a verbal dispute on the 700 block of Vaughn Avenue in Yuma Wednesday evening.

Yuma deputies tell News 11 they received the call for the verbal disturbance between two men Wednesday evening. One of the men was believed to be armed with a gun but when deputies arrived to the scene that man fled.

That man was indeed Jose Jimenez. He is about 6 foot three inches tall and weighs about 225 pounds. Jimenez is wanted for unlawful flight from law enforcement and for an unrelated outstanding misdemeanor warrant.

Deputies tell us Jimenez fled the verbal disturbance scene on Avenue B and 8th Street in a car. While attempting to conduct a traffic stop Jimenez refused to pull over for sheriff deputies. He then drove to the Camelot Apartments in Yuma near 13th Lane and Avenue B. During the pursuit deputies lost sight of Jimenez who then fled on foot.

Deputies searched for Jimenez but cleared the area at least two hours later. Since he is still on the run deputies relayed this message to the residents at the Camelot Apartments and the public.

Multiple agencies assisted in the search for Jimenez this evening including the Yuma Police Department and their Gang Unit. If you have seen Jimenez or know where he is you are asked to call YCSO at (928) 783-4427.
