Arizona Western College knew how important this game was on their schedule. It's not enough that Phoenix College had been a dominate player in the NJCAA in their win this past season of the Division 2 Championship. The Lady Bears have also beaten the Lady Mats in their last five contests.

Game one started the way the previous five had gone. The Lady Bears took a 7-2 lead after two innings. The Lady Mats would rally in the 3rd and 4th innings. This would include knocking in five runs in the 4th, thanks to three doubles and two singles stroked by the AWC offense. The rally would give the Lady Mats a 10-8 win.

Game two proved to be a continuation of game one's momentum. AWC got off to a quick 5-1 start in the first two innings. This thanks in part to a two run homerun by Alex Roman in the bottom of the 1st. AWC would eventually hold on in the end by the score of 6-3.

This is the first time AWC has swept Phoenix College since 2006.
