A school bus carrying 35 students collided with another vehicle Friday evening, sending two people in a third car to the hospital.

California Highway Patrol responded to the collision at Barbara Worth Rd. at Heber Rd. at 5:08 p.m.

CHP tells News 11 that a school bus was heading eastbound on Heber Rd. at 55 mph, approaching the intersection of Barbara Worth Rd.

A Ford F-150 that was traveling northbound on Barbara Worth Rd. made a complete stop, but then continued and did not see the bus.

The bus broadsided the truck, sending the truck into the path of a third vehicle, a Chevrolet Malibu heading westbound on Heber Rd.

The Malibu was pushed into an empty concrete canal.

The students had minor to moderate injuries.

The driver and passenger of the Ford F-150 were flown to Desert Hospital in Palm Springs, California, due to possible internal injuries.

The collision is still under investigation.
