The City of Somerton re-elected Mayor Martin Porchas for another four-year term.

Residents also voted on three city council positions that are open for four-year terms, but none of the six candidates received more than half of the votes in order to automatically win a council seat.

The candidates will compete again for the three seats in the general election May 21. The deadline to register for the general election is April 22.

Unofficial election results reported from the Yuma County Election Services are as follows:

Mayor - City of Somerton:
Martin Porchas 60.49%
Arturo Magana 39.36%

Council Member - City of Somerton:
Gerardo Anaya 24.08%
Carlos Gonzalez 20.67%
Miguel Villalpando 19.97%
Patricia Miranda 14.29%
Arturo Vargas 13.27%
Francisco Vasquez 7.52%
