Brandi Michalski appeared in Yuma County Justice Court Wednesday afternoon and is being accused of premeditate first degree murder in the case of Christal Figueroa, whose body was found in a citrus grove last Friday.
Michalski broke down in tears during court when the judge read the charge pending against her.
After the judge presented the charge, a victim’s advocate for Figueroa made a statement, asking that justice be served for a woman who leaves behind three young children.
Prosecutors have also linked Michalski to hit and run that occurred the same Friday of the murder.
30. Caliber bullet casings matching the ones found at Figueroa’s murder scene were discovered inside the vehicle that Michalski was riding in before the driver struck a parked car and those inside fled the scene.
Police are still searching for two men in connection with the two incidents, those men being 22 year old Daniel Torres and 30 year old Jose Jimenez.
Michalski’s bond has been set at two million dollars.
