Yuma police have named a new suspect wanted for questioning in the murder investigation of Christal figueroa, 29, of Wellton.
Police are looking for 20-year-old Jorge Rios of San Luis, who is also known as "Pelon."
In the meantime, the search continues for 30-year-old Jose Jimenez, also known as "Rascal," who is still on the run.
Figueroa's body was found in a Yuma citrus grove March 22.
Saturday morning, Yuma police blocked off the area near S. Olivia Ave. for a report of Jimenez possibly being sighted.
The search turned up empty.
Police also had a lead on his location Thursday night when they responded to a trailer park near 24th St. and Pacific Ave., but that also turned up empty.
In the past week since the death of the 29-year-old mother of three, several suspects have been arrested, questioned and released.
However, 24-year-old Brandi Michalski, who was originally charged with first-degree murder, remains in custody, but with reduced charges.
Friday, in court, prosecutors said they do not believe Michalski killed Figueroa, but they said Michalski hindered prosecution and tampered with evidence tied to the murder by hiding the .30 caliber rifle used to kill Figueroa.
"This defendant, as evidence will show is seen on video over near Da Boyz Pizza stashing a firearm," said a state prosecutor in court, "this rifle was used in the killing...as evidence would reveal."
State prosecutors also said Michalski helped Jimenez in the murder by lying to authorities as to where he was the day of the crime.
Michalski is now being charged with two felonies, and her bond has been lowered from $2 million to $100,000, cash only.
She will be back in court next week.
If you have any information on the whereabouts of Jimenez or Rios, call the Yuma Police Department or call 911. Police say Jimenez and Rios should be considered armed and dangerous.
