A wildfire located in the Imperial National Wildlife Refuge on the Arizona side of the Colorado River has burned about 500 acres as of Monday morning, according to Lori Cook with the Bureau of Land Management.
The fire is 5 percent contained. Nortons Landing is the only area threatened at this time.
The fire is moving upstream and is only accessible by the Colorado River.
The fire was first reported Sunday around 1 p.m.
Fire crews, including fire boats and a helicopter are working to put out the fire.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
