A man was critically wounded after being stabbed Sunday after a large fight broke out along the river in the area of County 4 1/2 E and Levee Rd. in Yuma, according to Alfonso Zavala with the Yuma County Sheriff's Office.
A group of men stabbed five men who are in their 20s. The man who suffered life-threatening injuries was taken to Yuma Regional Medical Center, while the other four were treated on-scene for minor injuries.
According to YCSO, the victims said they did not know the men who stabbed them.
Deputies arrived to the scene after 911 calls at 7:23 p.m. Sunday.
When authorities arrived, all the suspects were gone. It is unknown what caused the fight.
"All weapons were located, and we continue to search for more evidence," Zavala said.
Witnesses who saw the fight told authorities they also heard shots fired.
"As far as right now, we have the reports of the shots fired, we saw nothing on scene that would lead us to believe that there were actually shots," Zavala said.

He added that YCSO has no reason to believe this incident was gang-related.
Deputies are searching for the suspects who are on the run, but YCSO only has a vague description--that of two Hispanic men in their 20s.
No one has been arrested in connection with this case.
