Candidates vying for a seat on city council participated in a public debate Thursday evening at the Martin Luther King neighborhood center.
About 50 people showed up to listen to the six candidates speak their minds about a wide range of issues affecting city residents.
Candidates answered questions in a panel-style forum, where the public was asked to submit topics they wanted to hear discussed.
Those included Yuma’s fluctuating job market, water rights, and property taxes.
The candidate’s next round of debates will be held next Thursday October 3rd at Arizona Western College at six in the evening.
The entire question and answer portion of the forum will be broadcast live on News 11.
