25-year-old Jesus Alaniz will spend the next 11 years behind bars after pleading guilty to one count of theft and one count of attempted armed robbery.
Last December, Alazniz was involved in an attempted robbery of the Wells Fargo Bank on West Catalina drive in Yuma.
An investigation revealed the Yuma native entered the bank on December 27th and demanded money before leaving on foot.
He was arrested shortly after near Kofa high school.
After his arrest, police discovered Alaniz was wanted for another case involving the theft of weapons and other property.
The attempted robbery of the Wells Fargo Bank netted him eight years, while the other theft case cost him an additional three years in jail.
After being read his sentence, the 25 year old apologized, telling the judge he is "Embarassed of what he did" and that he would have never done what he did if I he “was in the right state of mind."
