The man arrested for a double armed robbery last year learned his sentence in Yuma Superior Court Wednesday.
Judge Haas sentenced Vicente Nunez-Dominguez to five years in the Arizona Department of Corrections for counts one and two of attempted robbery with a deadly weapon.
The state pushed for a seven year prison sentence, while the defense attorney asked for two years due to the Dominguez's young age.
The court decided upon a five year sentence due to the fact that Dominguez had been on probation when he committed the two robberies.
Last February, Dominguez robbed a Ramada Inn on 32nd Street in Yuma and immediately after robbed the Chevron gas station on the corner of 16th Street and Avenue B.
According to the victims, Dominguez displayed a firearm when he demanded money from them.
