Cibola students learn skills to secure future jobs

YUMA, Ariz. - Juniors at Cibola High School got to hear from a Consultant Assistant Division Head from Los Angeles Public Works on skills for securing future jobs.

CHS' English teacher invited Nicolle Wilkinson, a Yuma Native, who works for Los Angeles Public Works to talk to the students on August 29. Wilkinson is said to have an extensive background in hiring and recruiting, and she sees hundreds of resumes each week. She provided information about interview tips, resume skills, and career readiness skills specific to Yuma students.

About 140 students participated in this event.

“We brought Nicolle in to speak to our students as a real-life example of what employers are searching for right now in the workplace,” CHS English teacher Jessica Curry said. “Nicolle is a tremendous resource for students on the importance of resumes and interview skills.”
