IMPERIAL, Calif. - Over 40 local agencies participated in Imperial County Behavioral Health's 'World Mental Health Day Summit' at Imperial Valley College.
The free event was an opportunity to educate and create discussions between individuals who could be seeking help for themselves or loved ones.
The main message of the summit was that no one is ever alone in their struggle with mental health.
Imperial County Behavior Health manager Scott Dudley said, "When we come here and when we talk to each other and we get our stories and we compare what we've been doing, and we need a day for that. What we find out is that we are part of a community. There is a collective need and we're all in this together."
The summit offered classrooms, workshops, and table vendors who offered more information about the health services available in the valley.
