One of the two people that died in a plane crash in Louisiana Sunday was from Yuma, Ariz.

A family member has confirmed that 22-year-old Angel Torres died after a plane crash in Collinston, La.

The National Transportation Safety Board identified the other person on the plane as Gary Wood Cumbey from Paragould, Ark.

According to media in the area, the plane struck electric wires as it flew then crashed in an adjacent field. Morehouse Parish Sheriff Mike Tubbs said both people aboard the plane were declared dead at the scene when sheriffs arrived.

Family members tell News 11 Torres was a very passionate, optimistic, and kind person. They said he always made people laugh.

"He was a young pilot who followed the American dream by taking risks and accomplished so much at a young age. He made his family and parents very proud. The family is going through a hard time right now so if you can all please keep our family in your thoughts."
