Eagles softball plays spoiler in win over Imperial!

Sadriena Rodriguez pitches complete game shutout

EL CENTRO, Calif. - Southwest softball has had the target on it's back this season in the Imperial Valley League, since taking the league title last Spring on it's way to winning the CIF-San Diego Section Division 3 crown.

Now in Division 2, life has been more difficult for the Eagles; as they already dropped 4 league contests; essentially eliminating them from contention of a 2nd straight IVL title.

On Monday night, league frontrunner Imperial would come to Southwest high school looking to keep it's slim lead over the likes of Brawley and Central.

The Eagles would have a lot to say about that.

Southwest starting pitcher Sadriena Rodriguez would pitch a complete game shutout and strike out 8 Tigers batters in the Eagles victory over Imperial.

Rodriguez would also help fuel the offense, hitting a 2-run home run to help the Eagles to soar to a 5-0 final result.

These 2 teams will meet again for a rematch at Imperial on April 30th.
