YUMA, Ariz. - Gila Ridge 2-sport student-athlete Hanah Sims now knows her collegiate future and it's less than a mile away from her current school.
Sims signed her letter of intent to play for the Arizona Western College women's basketball program on Saturday.
In addition to being on the track and field team, Sims has been a varsity starter in girls basketball all 4 years of her high school career and leads her current team in multiple statistical categories.
A huge reason for Sims decision to become a Lady Matador was the off-season basketball camps that AWC would run over the years.
She credits those opportunities to her basketball development and the positive impressions from long-time Lady Mats head coach Patrick Cunningham.
Sims is on track to graduating Gila Ridge with a 3.95 GPA and joining up with the Lady Mats this coming off-season.
